review//Lush Gorgeous Moisturiser

This tiny pot of Gorgeous moisturiser has been my skin saviour lately, it came with the Hey Gorgeous gift set my boyfriend was lovely enough to get me for Christmas. According to the Lush website this moisturiser is intended to "revive and brighten", like all Lush products it's packed with goodies (like fruit juices) and has minimal preservatives. Over Christmas (and with my birthday soon after) a lot of rubbish, yet delicious, food has been consumed and my skin shows it, with blemishes, break outs and generally dull skin, this has just helped me look a little more human. I have been using this as a day moisturiser and applying it directly before my foundation. Generally throughout the day my foundation starts to look a little worse for wear as my skin becomes more dry around my forehead and chin, however with this little beauty that hasn't been happening at all and my skin as remained moisturised all day long.
Personally I do think it's a little pricey to buy alone, at £39.50 for 45g, however it is worth noting that the sample size is only 10g, I've been using it every day since Christmas day and I've barely made a dent in it. Now that I have tried it and loved it I will be repurchasing it once I run out. If this product does interest you but you don't want to risk forking out almost £40 Lush are usually very good with giving you a small sample of a product to try out first so don't be afraid to ask!

Very Berry Face Mask

Hello lovely!
Today I had a spare half an hour, and so I thought I might as well break out a face-mask seen as I went on a slight face-mask shopping spree in the past few weeks! I'm not sure if they are all new, or if I just hadn't spotted them before, but lately I've been seeing a lot of different Montagne Jeunesse sachet masks. The one I used today seemed so unusual it felt blog worthy! The odd mask in question is the "Very Berry" mask, which claims to be "ultra moisturising and cleansing", which is exactly what I was looking for, after a month of bad skin days.
As you can see from the picture below, it's blooming metallic! When I first started applying it, it was one of the oddest feelings I have experienced, it looked and felt like paint, so all I could think was, oh my goodness this cannot possibly be good for my skin!
But lo and behold, it seems to have done the trick! My redness was reduced and a few blemishes waiting to become full blown spots were banished. I love all of the masks in this range and now I'm excited to try some others.

Have you tried any masks from this brand? Which would you recommend?
Lots and lots of love, Beth :) xxx

so I'm back!

I have been absent for a long long time but for good reason!
It was exam season so my days and weeks have been filled with revision cards, mind maps and essay plans. But now that's all over and I can get back to blogging and not feel guilty about it.
I do have a teensy bit of news however, I got a full-time job!
Which, suffice to say, is so far making me feel both very grown up and very tired!
So, expect a lot more regular blog posts from me, I'm really excited to get back into it :)!

battle of the brows!

Filling in my brows is something I have only recently started doing, as my brows are so unruly and sparse at the same time they are often neglected as they just seem impossible to make look presentable! Over the last few months I have accumulated 3 drugstore brow pencils, Eylure, No7 and Maybelline, so I thought it would be a good idea to do a post comparing them! As I mentioned, they are all drugstore, all relatively cheap, all for my dark brown brows and all came with a spooley on one end.
No7. (£6.50) Pros||Great colour match (in shade Brown), no smudging, no flaking, spooley on the end isn't too hard or brittle Cons||Spooley fell off within one use, not the best colour pay off
Eylure (£5.39) Pros||Good colour match (shade 2), good colour pay off, pencil not too soft or too hard, soft spooley Cons||No lid on the spooley end so can get dirty in make-up bag
Maybelline (£2.99) Pros||Honestly the only positive I can find with this product is that it was really cheap! Cons||Awful to sharpen, runs down so so easily, not great colour pay off, feels waxy on the brows
Summary time!
No7.- A good brow pencil and seen as No7. is usually on some form of offer I think it's worth giving a look! Eylure- I love this product and it's now got it's permanent place in my make-up bag! Maybelline- Unless you desperately need a brow pencil and can't get your hands on any others, I wouldn't recommend this!
Hope some of you found this useful!
Do you use brow pencils or are you more of a shadow lover?
I think I'm just too impatient to use a shadow!
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxo

Superfacialist Rose Intense Moisture Mask

Recently I have been developing a bit of a face mask obsession, I blinking love the things!
I have so so many problems with my skin, dry areas, oily areas, countless blemishes, redness, darkness under my eyes. You name it, I get it and I hadn't ever found anything that treated all of them.
So I talked myself into buying a slightly more expensive mask, I chose a mask specifically for moisturising the skin, as it's the problem that bothers me the most.
I wasn't expecting amazing things if I'm being honest, I love face masks but as more of a novelty rather than an effective treatment.
But boy oh boy was I mistaken!
This product worked wonders for my skin, I think this (and a combination of other products I've been trying out) is what has cleared up my skin.
When it's first applied it feels as though you're just slapping on moisturiser that wont quite sink in right, but after leaving it on for a good 10/15 minutes (I usually just ignore the instructions and leave it on for as long as it feels right to), it almost completely disappears.
Once I've washed it off my face, my skin feels as soft as a babies bottom as the saying goes!
The nice smoothy soft feeling really does stay for a good 3 days afterwards, for me at least.
Obviously everyone and everyone's skin type is very different, but this product is definitely one that I will continue to use and has very quickly become a regular in my skincare routine!
Have you tried this product, or anything else from the Superfacialist range?
I've not heard much about the brand and brought it on a whim if I'm being honest!

monthly goals no.1- April

Hello there gorgeous,
If you're like me, then you make New Years resolutions and forget about them by the 20th of January, this is why I've decided to set myself monthly goals and post updates on this blog! They can be anything, blog related, work related, college related, or personal, absolutely anything.
For the end of April I will have-
1. Completed ALL my college coursework
2. Written at least 3 blog posts per week
3. Organised my room at my mums house (my room at my dads can wait until next month)
4. Started revision for my exams
5. Decided on my next tattoo (decided it's happening very very soon!)
Wish me luck!

Botanics Revealing Body Polish

At Christmas I got an absurd amount of miniatures in sets, as always, and personally I love getting presents like this, just because I am always quite hesitant to spend money on something that I haven't heard a lot of good things about, but miniatures mean that I have a chance to find a little gem like this!

I'm not the biggest fan of body polishes, I prefer a body exfoliator that feels like it's doing something, something with a chunkier texture to it, like the Garnier Body Tonic Scrub with sugar and fruit extracts (my summer exfoliator). Although having said that, I am also incredibly lazy when it comes to taking care of my skin and I will take any short cuts I can! I know it's bad but it's true. This product is amazing for that, as not only is it really really exfolitating without you really noticing, it is incredibly moisturising and when you use it in the shower, it foams up to bubbles under the water. Meaning you can pretty much shave your legs with one product.
I am completely in love with this product and I use it every time I have a shower (not so much in the bath, because I don't like sitting around with the beads left in the bath water) and I definitely plan on buying a bigger tube when I run out!
Have you tried this product?
Do you have another body exfoliator/polish that you rely on?
Please do leave a comment and follow if you liked this post :)

Revlon Grow-Luscious Mascara

Hello gorgeous :)
I thought I'd write a post today to let you all know about a product that I have been absolutely loving, the Revlon Grow-Luscious Mascara. I can't even remember how long ago it was that I brought this mascara, I think Revlon must have been on offer at the time because I haven't heard anything about this mascara. But lately I found it in my make-up draw and thought, well why not give it a go!
The Revlon website claims that the mascara "strengthens and conditions lashes for a longer and fuller lash look" and that "day after day, unique formula helps strengthen lashes"
And to be honest I would have to agree, normally I'm very dubious when companies make those kind of claims, but I didn't know about these claims when I brought the mascara.
It looks amazing all day, is really really build-able to make a more dramatic look.
But it also has made my lashes look a lot longer and thicker without mascara on at all. I can't say for sure that it is this mascara, because I'm never loyal to one mascara, but I've only noticed the change since I started using this particular product most days.
after using the mascara
before with my very light lashes

*excuse the lack of other make-up but I was poorly when this photo was taken*
I absolutely love this mascara and I think I've found something that I will repurchase
Have you tried this mascara?
Or have you got another mascara that you swear by?
I'd be interested to know :)
I think Benefit They're Real Mascara is next on my list when this one runs out!

no7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Wipes

Hello there honey :)
I'm sure you've seen these wipes in your local Boots store before, and I'm sure you've seen their absurd price tag of £7.00 and if you're anything like me, walked right on past them to the much cheaper face wipes.

in case you haven't seen these lovely wipes before, it might sound trivial but I do love the clean white packaging.
However, if you are a bargain hunter like me, I'm sure you've also seen the no7 vouchers with two sides that Boots give out every few weeks when you spend over £5 in one transaction. As far as I'm aware it was previously £3 off make-up and £5 of skincare, however now it's £5 off fragrance and £5 off skincare (specific to no7 that is).
With the £5 off voucher the wipes are just £2 (or 200 points) which I think is pretty averagely priced for face wipes to be honest. And I cannot fault the quality. I usually use the Boots Essentials Face Wipes (£1.50) or whatever cheap wipes I can get my hands on.
To start with I wasn't sure about the wipes, just because of how wet (ewww hate that word!) they are. However, once I'd got used to it, they are the most refreshing wipes I've used and are so moisturing, something my very dry skin needs. Plus, as far as face wipes go they get rid of sooooo much make-up!
They have fast become an essential item for me and one that I will repurchase again and again.
(when I have money off vouchers I intent on stocking up!)
Have you tried these wipes?
Do you think no7 items are as overpriced as I do?
I love to read and reply to your comments so please do leave them below :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxo

MUA Undressed

Hi there gorgeous!
This is going to be a little look at something I brought recently and got very excited about. An MUA eye pallet, which is supposed to be a dupe for the Naked palette I think, but seen as I'm broke 99% of the time I can't judge this (the new Undressed Me Too palette is supposed to be a dupe for the Naked 2).
But what I can judge, is how darn pretty all the colours are!
Usually in pallets I can see one or two colours that I will never use, however in this (and also the MUA Heaven and Earth palette) I can see me using every single one.
They range from barely there nudes to shimmery blacks, all can be built up to be more pigmented and it even comes with a suggestion on the back of how to use the colours.

swatched in order
I've used colours 2, 4 and 8 once already, for me and the boyf's Valentines date on Friday and their staying power was amazing, with only concealer underneath to act as a base/primer.
It's retailing for just £4, for 12 shades so around 33p for a really pigmented eye shadow isn't really something you can pass up!
Have you tried this palette, or the newer one?
Unfortunately my local Superdrug hasn't got it in stock yet, but I probably will pick it up, fallen in love with MUA palettes.
Let me know if you'd like a face of the day with this palette so you can see them on the lid :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxoxo

lately I love... #1

Hello gorgeous!

This is going to (hopefully) be a little mini-series on my blog, quick posts featuring a product I have particularly been loving lately. I'm nowhere near organised enough to do monthly favourites (all my products are separated between 3 houses) and I feel like my review posts can be really long and so I don't post them as often as I'd like... Hopefully this will be a compromise!

Anyway, this post is all about got2b 2sexy hairspray (from Schwarzkopf).
I'm not a massive hair person, I don't really do much with my hair, but recently I had my hair cut pretty short for me and so I've been having to straighten it..

This means for once I have had to use hairspray and I have fallen in love.

The hairspray holds all day, doesn't make my hair look like it's all been stuck into place, makes it so so shiny, and smells gorgeous.

I tend to straighten/curl my hair, hairspray it, and then brush out the hairspray to give it more of a messy look.

From Boots it costs £4.07 for 300ml so not bad value for money (at the moment most products across the brand are on 2 for £5 so I have stocked up!)

Anyway, that's it for this post!
If you liked this and want to be notified when I post, please do follow via GFC, it makes me very very happy..
Also, if you have a blog please do leave it in the comments, I love looking at new blogs :)

birthday wishlist!

Hello you gorgeous thing!
I am insanely excited, in a matter of (currently 8) days, I will be an official, fully-fledged adult! That's right, I'm turning 18!

Anyway, as I have had a stupidly long day which has consisted of meeting the boyfriend for breakfast (we had tea and scones, it was ridiculously cute!) and then sitting and not moving from my computer doing college work all about murder (ooooh jolly...), I wanted to get excited about something.

With that in mind, here is my birthday wishlist; some items I know I'm getting (as they are a prezzie from me to me) and some I will just endlessly dream after...

1) My Tattoo!
Now obviously I can't whack in a picture of this amazing tattoo that doesn't yet exist, but you all know what tattoos are. My tattoo is (hopefully, I'm going to see a lovely lady about it tomorrow) going to be a quote on my arm that I'm going to get done on my birthday morning. So if you're interested in seeing that, make sure to be following me on twitter (@LookLifeBeauty), as I'm sure to be tweeting all the way through it!

2) M.A.C lipstick!
I've filled and emptied the online basket in MAC more times than I can count and never been able to push that button, have you seen the prices?! But always in the basket are two lipsticks; Creme D' Nude and Brick-o-La, I just love them!

3) Illamasqua highlighter!
Specifically, Gleam in Aurora. I genuinely do not have the words to express my feelings for this product, Google it, it's gorgeous!

4) Comedy DVDs!
I haven't brought DVDs in so long, just because £10 is a lot to spend all at once for something that lasts maybe 2 hours and I won't want to watch again for at least a week. So anything with Sarah Millican, Jon Richardson, Russell Howard, Greg Davies, David Mitchell or Miranda Hart and I'm happy!

5) A nice meal out with the family and boyfriend!
Unfortunately this won't be happening this year, my big brother will be off back at uni and my mum will be working... But I am going to compromise, breakfast out with dad, lunch out with my boyfriend and a night in with my mum!

Do you get as excited as me about your birthday? I just think it's the best day (minus Christmas)!
Fancy making an extra birthday wish come true early and giving my twitter/blog whichever you fancy, a follow? I promise to love you forever :)
Beth, xoxoxo
