lately I love #3

Hello there beautiful!
This lately I love is an old favourite lipstick of mine which is sadly nearing its end.
From the Rimmel Moisture Renew range, Spotlight Beige.

I have never been a massive fan of nude lips, simply because I have quite pigmented lips anyway and any nude colours just look wrong. But this colour, oh my word, it's gorgeous and I have fallen in love with it again.
It's just the right mix of pigmented but also sheer so it doesn't cover over any natural pigmentation of your lips, so avoiding the concealer lips look that really doesn't suit me.
It doesn't cling to dry areas, it has medium staying power I would say, it wont last all day if you eat and drink but you wont need to reapply every five minutes.
I just plain love it.
All the Rimmel lip products are amazing in my opinion if I'm being honest, they get it spot on every time!
Do you have any favourites from the Rimmel lip products?
This was laying in my draw for so long unloved, I feel quite guilty now!
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxo

another Apocalips review!

Hello gorgeous!
I'm sure you'll have seen a million and one reviews of the new Rimmel products, Apocalips but I figured as I went a little crazy over them I should put my thoughts out there!

not amazingly accurate colours here so see the picture below!
The five (yes, five, don't give me that look! they are too pretty!) colours I picked up were 101 Celestial, 600 Nude Eclipse, 400 Big Bang, 301 Galaxy and 500 Luna. But first, I'd like to take a quick look at the packaging, wowzers! It is amazing, the colour you see in the tube is the actual product which I think is quite cool and the top of product is shaped like a rock/asteroid kind of tying in with the apocalypse theme I suppose.

a more accurate view of the colours!
The swatches above are literally just from dabbing the applicator onto my skin, so you can see how pigmented the product is! I also wanted to wait until I had a chance to try out most of the colours all day, so I could comment on their durability and I can honestly say I was shocked *in a very very good way!*. I won't lie and say oh my goodness they stayed on perfectly all day, they didn't, but they stayed on for hours without smudging or fading and when they do fade they fade evenly so it doesn't look obvious.

At the minute they are on sale in Boots for £5.99 and they are on 3 for 2 along with all other Rimmel products, (hence how I justified buying so many...) and I highly highly recommend picking at least one up. Celestial is probably my favourite just because I love the pale pink shade for everyday.

Have you brought any?
Are you planning on?
I really do love them, Rimmel honestly have some amazing products!

Barmy about Balmi!

Hello my lovelies!
How are you today?
the cute, ball-like lip balm that fits snug as a bug on your keys :)
Just a little review for you today, much in line with the change of weather happening before our very eyes!

As I'm sure you know, unless you've been living in a cave (...actually, especially if you live in a cave!) that autumn is very much upon us and winter fast on it's tail. And while if you know me at all, you'll know how unbelievably excited I am about this, it does bring sad news for one part of the anatomy. The lips.

Although they are soon to be blessed with the wonders of hot chocolate and Christmas kisses, they will suffer from the chilly weather!

I recently invested in the product "Balmi" from Boots, in Strawberry.
I'll be honest, I mainly brought this product because I thought the name was adorable and I was feeling like a bit of a change (I'm normally faithful to my dear Carmex). But boy oh boy I'm glad I decided to switch it up.

It tastes and smells gorgeous, and a feature that I first thought was cheesy and rather unnecessary has turned out to be very helpful; the key chain. Now, when I first realised that was what the small bit of string was for, my first thought was "why on Earth would you need that? who is reaching for their keys and suddenly thinks oh my gosh I need lip-balm(!)". Well, I apologise greatly makers of Balmi, it is very convenient! You always have your keys, and I used to take my Carmex with me in my make-up bag, which I'm not sure about you, but I don't always have that with me.

Unfortunately though, I do have one, and only one, complaint about this product. Although on first thought the fact that the bottom (which connects to your keys) pops out can be seen as an advantage, you get every single bit of product out of it. And the sheer amount of product alone is something to be credited. This does provide a massive downside, if you're bag is full of useless items that you in no way need in your life, like mine, and you often find yourself scratching around in the bottom off it (wading through the useless crap) for your keys, you grab them and pull them out, guess what happens to the Balmi? The bit of string and the end come out fine, the balm however (now somewhat exposed as the bottom is in your hand) is left rolling around free.

Having said all of this, the balm itself, along with smelling yummy, is super moisturising, without being a touch on the greasy side like some lip balms. It goes on amazingly under lipsticks without effecting their staying power.

Overall I would give this cutesy little product a big ol' thumbs up, I highly highly recommend it, especially if you suffer from dry lips as it really is a must-have product for this winter.

That's all from me today folks,
Love you lots and lots, Beth :) xoxoxoxoxo.

guess what... POP! did I make you jump? bet I did...

Hello m'dears!

Recently I've developed somewhat of a lip product addiction... It would be a real problem if it wasn't so much fun! However one advantage of this (not so) shameful obsession is that I can share my findings with you lovely people in the world of blogs!

The one product that I've come across lately that really has caught my eye, are the new ColorSensational Popsticks from Maybelline. The two that I've brought so far, and trust me I will be getting more, are 040 Crystal Pink and 080 Cherry Pop.

I'm sure you've heard all the hype around the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters (review to come), and I'm pretty sure this is Maybelline's attempt at a similar product.

Anyway enough rambling, onto the review! As I'm sure you've guessed I lalalove these lip products, in my opinion they're just the right mix between being a gloss and a full lipstick.

080 Cherry Pop, although here it looks more coral...
040 Crystal Pink, oh how pretty you are!

I do recommend these products like crazy, although looking at them now, I do wonder how on earth they cost so much (just over the £7 mark) considering what they actually do, but because of the formula I can see one lasting an awfully long time...

In my opinion though the range of colours and the actual colour, provided you don't mind a bit of building it up, really makes up for it, they are gorgeous. As far as staying-power for this product goes, if it was marketed as a lipstick then I'd say it leaves a lot to be desired, but seen as it's more of a sheen/gloss I think a few re-applications throughout the day is to be expected!
So yes, I've been rambling for a while, time to wrap this up! Overall, it's pretty, bit pricey but I think they'll last for a while, might have to re-apply at times but if it looks like your kind of thing, go for it!

Well that's it from me for this 'lil blog I think! If you've caught the lip product bug with all these pretty colours for summer then please do leave your recommendations for me!

Lots and lots of love, Beth!
