no7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Wipes

Hello there honey :)
I'm sure you've seen these wipes in your local Boots store before, and I'm sure you've seen their absurd price tag of £7.00 and if you're anything like me, walked right on past them to the much cheaper face wipes.

in case you haven't seen these lovely wipes before, it might sound trivial but I do love the clean white packaging.
However, if you are a bargain hunter like me, I'm sure you've also seen the no7 vouchers with two sides that Boots give out every few weeks when you spend over £5 in one transaction. As far as I'm aware it was previously £3 off make-up and £5 of skincare, however now it's £5 off fragrance and £5 off skincare (specific to no7 that is).
With the £5 off voucher the wipes are just £2 (or 200 points) which I think is pretty averagely priced for face wipes to be honest. And I cannot fault the quality. I usually use the Boots Essentials Face Wipes (£1.50) or whatever cheap wipes I can get my hands on.
To start with I wasn't sure about the wipes, just because of how wet (ewww hate that word!) they are. However, once I'd got used to it, they are the most refreshing wipes I've used and are so moisturing, something my very dry skin needs. Plus, as far as face wipes go they get rid of sooooo much make-up!
They have fast become an essential item for me and one that I will repurchase again and again.
(when I have money off vouchers I intent on stocking up!)
Have you tried these wipes?
Do you think no7 items are as overpriced as I do?
I love to read and reply to your comments so please do leave them below :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxo

I did some (Soap &) Glorious shopping!

Hi honey, see what I did there haha!
Recently I have fallen in love with the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner and my mum has fallen in love with the Soap and Glory mascara that I gave her. So it got me thinking, why have I not branched out into more of their cosmetics? Answer, because I'm daft.
So, today me and the boyfriend went into town for a bit of lunch, shopping and to give each other our Valentines presents, and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to nip into Boots before he got there and have a bit of a nosey!
I went to the advantage card kiosk (do you when you shop in Boots? you really should, I always thought it was a waste of time but there are some good vouchers on there) and there was a voucher for 300 points when you brought a Sexy Mother Pucker XL lipgloss. Suffice to say I needed no further encouragement.
When I hurried on over to the Soap and Glory cosmetic section, I saw a 3 for 2 sign and I really was beside myself.
Along with the Sexy Mother Pucker XL gloss, I picked up a gloss stick (I do love my lip products) and the Kick Ass Concealer, which I've looked at so many times but never took the plunge.
*I am aware that the pictures aren't of the best quality, but 9pm isn't the best time for snapping pictures and this is just a mini-haul, not a review :)*

Have you tried any of the S&G cosmetics?
Please do comment and follow if you fancy it, you can also find me on twitter @looklifebeauty if you fancy a chat! And as always if you have a blog do leave it  in the comments, I love finding new ones :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxo

Barmy about Balmi!

Hello my lovelies!
How are you today?
the cute, ball-like lip balm that fits snug as a bug on your keys :)
Just a little review for you today, much in line with the change of weather happening before our very eyes!

As I'm sure you know, unless you've been living in a cave (...actually, especially if you live in a cave!) that autumn is very much upon us and winter fast on it's tail. And while if you know me at all, you'll know how unbelievably excited I am about this, it does bring sad news for one part of the anatomy. The lips.

Although they are soon to be blessed with the wonders of hot chocolate and Christmas kisses, they will suffer from the chilly weather!

I recently invested in the product "Balmi" from Boots, in Strawberry.
I'll be honest, I mainly brought this product because I thought the name was adorable and I was feeling like a bit of a change (I'm normally faithful to my dear Carmex). But boy oh boy I'm glad I decided to switch it up.

It tastes and smells gorgeous, and a feature that I first thought was cheesy and rather unnecessary has turned out to be very helpful; the key chain. Now, when I first realised that was what the small bit of string was for, my first thought was "why on Earth would you need that? who is reaching for their keys and suddenly thinks oh my gosh I need lip-balm(!)". Well, I apologise greatly makers of Balmi, it is very convenient! You always have your keys, and I used to take my Carmex with me in my make-up bag, which I'm not sure about you, but I don't always have that with me.

Unfortunately though, I do have one, and only one, complaint about this product. Although on first thought the fact that the bottom (which connects to your keys) pops out can be seen as an advantage, you get every single bit of product out of it. And the sheer amount of product alone is something to be credited. This does provide a massive downside, if you're bag is full of useless items that you in no way need in your life, like mine, and you often find yourself scratching around in the bottom off it (wading through the useless crap) for your keys, you grab them and pull them out, guess what happens to the Balmi? The bit of string and the end come out fine, the balm however (now somewhat exposed as the bottom is in your hand) is left rolling around free.

Having said all of this, the balm itself, along with smelling yummy, is super moisturising, without being a touch on the greasy side like some lip balms. It goes on amazingly under lipsticks without effecting their staying power.

Overall I would give this cutesy little product a big ol' thumbs up, I highly highly recommend it, especially if you suffer from dry lips as it really is a must-have product for this winter.

That's all from me today folks,
Love you lots and lots, Beth :) xoxoxoxoxo.

F.O.T.D. and chit chat :)

Hello darling!

Well, if you're in England I'm sure you'll know it's been an awful day, weather-wise. This has made me immensely excited. Much to my friends annoyance as they've been moaning about their hair etc, and I've been giggling with glee at how much it feels like Christmas time :D.

Anyway, that's what has inspired today's blog, I only ever really wear bolder lips during the winter months. So, today when I woke up to the sound of rain and my Dad telling me to wrap up warm, I knew it was time to whack out the bolds!

Also, as it has been colder lately, I've switched to a foundation with more coverage; today it was the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation (in 303 true nude). Sticking with the good old Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer (in 2 light), as I have quite a few blemishes lately, I think changing my foundation has freaked out my skin :(.

On my eyes I just have Natural Collection eyeshadows, from the duo Mocha/Latte. Latte all over the lid and Mocha on the outer corner blended in. I also have two more Boots faves on my lashes: the No7 Excuisite Curl mascara on to make them pretty, and the Natural Collection WaterGuard mascara just over the top because of all the rain.

Finally, the area that feels most winter-y to me by far, is the lips. I am wearing a Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Plumfull (440). On its own this is a rather dark purple with red undertones, however as I was at college today, I felt it needed toning down a tiny bit, so over the top I have on a Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss in Sizzle (046), which is a very orangey-red to bring out the red, rather than purple tones.
*Just a little side note, the Revlon Lipstick in 046 matches perfectly with the Topshop Lipstick Infrared which I wore together yesterday :).

The one time of the year a 17 year old can be a teddy...
ILOVEWINTER!!
Hope you liked this blog post!
Love you lots and lots like Jelly Tots :)

chatty chatty chatty :)

Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry! I told a lil' porky pie and didn't start blogging again when I said I would. But now I am back at college so I shall try to get into more of a routine with this!

Now that's over and done with, this is going to be a bit of a chatty-blog to try and get back into the swing of it.

As I may have mentioned in a previous blog (lately there has been a lot of writing blog posts and then deleting them because they suck...) I have got a job, whoop whoop! At Boots, it's lovely, for once I am not broke :).

I have also just started my second year of college, currently I am doing two A Levels, and a Btec. If you're not in England/at college that probably means nothing to you! But the subjects are Psychology, History and Law :). Last year I also did English, but we are only allowed to carry on three subjects and English didn't make the cut.

*moment of cheesiness coming right now, you have been warned*

To be honest, I've been a bit out of this whole blogging malarkey recently, didn't really see the point in it. I adore reading blogs, I have for years, and I only made this blog because I figured it would be something to do. But then I started thinking "well what's the point if no one is reading it?" but now I understand that this is something I should do for me, not anyone else.

If, by any freak of nature you are reading this, and you're considering writing a blog, do it. I'm glad I have and I regret stopping for so long.

There are thousands of blogs out there and the chances of mine being one that anyone sees/actually enjoys are very slim. But the chances of this being something I can be proud of are significantly higher.

Any-hoo...

This is only a tiny blog, a micro-blog if you will (hehe images of micro pigs in my head now... eeek cuties).

So I shall go before this turns even more ramble-y...

I love you lots!
Cheerio, Beth xoxoxoxo

review of Johnson's exfoliating wash

Hello gorgeous!

As promised, here is a beauty-type blog post again! *yayayayayayayayayay the crowd goes wild!*
A review of a product that I brought about 3 months ago and have been trying out for a blooming long time, Johnson's face care, gentle exfoliating wash

Now, first impressions of this product weren't good I'll be honest, I hated it. It's advertised as "gentle" and I'm pretty sure the way they adapted a regular exfoliating wash to be marketed as "gentle" was make the formula itself a bit more cream-y and reduce the size of the exfoliating beads, the beads really are tiny, they do seem like they won't work. When I first used it, for the first 2 weeks roughly, it just hurt like a naughty word and felt like I was rubbing sand on my face, not something I've ever associated with being "gentle" I'm sure you'll agree.

Although it doesn't seem like it, after the first few weeks I did grow to love this product. I'm not sure why on earth it hurt that much to start off with, maybe I just didn't use enough water with it, or my skin had to adapt to it, but it has become one of my favourite products. It works wonders protecting against spots, I tend to get them when I don't use a powerful enough wash, however since I've used this product I've hardly had any break-outs. &since it stopped hurting, it does leave your face feeling moisturised, not stripped like some harsher products.

I do recommend the hell out of this product, it does pretty much everything you'd want in an exfoliating wash. Seen as in Boots it's only £3.09 you really can't go wrong.

However, if you have super sensitive skin, then I would say maybe don't go for this, by all means don't be put off by Johnson's altogether, it is an amazing brand. Personally my skin isn't that sensitive, and it did really hurt to begin with, when using this specific product. If you fancy giving it ago though and think that your skin won't be too damaged by it, then do, it's hardly a massive expense spared if it doesn't work out for you!

That's everything I think! Hope you found this helpful honey :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxo

a little haul for you :)

Hello there darlings!
Yesterday I did a cheeky bit of shopping that I thought I would share my finds with all you lovely bloggy people out there! The main reason for my sudden need to shop, more than usual I mean, was because I recently had a mahoosive clear out of all my clothes, three black bags altogether shipped off to charity. After this lovely clear out, I discovered that pretty much all of my wardrobe is made up of black, nude, cream or grey, not a very exciting sight I think you'll all agree!

So, as I'm sure you can guess the image in my mind when I headed off to the shops (the Westfield in Derby if you're interested) was "bright colours" or at least something with a real colour on it. Sadly as you're about to see, I didn't follow this brief... Not one little bit!

This is a rather long blog post, so here's a little overview of everything, and if you're interested in any of the items, feel free to carry on reading!

The first shop that I actually found something I liked in, was good ol' Dorothy Perkins. Now I'm not sure if I'm right in saying this so don't hold me to it, but it does seem that whenever I go in (and trust me that is a lot as there is one a two minute walk away from my house, not very healthy for my bank account but very fun!) there is some form of sale on jewellery. My two gorgeous little bargains from there were; a turquoise and gold cross necklace, with a gold chain, and a cutesy little pastel pink and white spotted bow for hair, or to be used as a broach. Both were only £2 and both fully priced were £6.50, a very very good saving, so of course I had to buy them, it would've been poor sense not to ;). Not to mention the fact that these items were the only ones with colour on that I brought.. Oh well, it's all pretty in my eyes!

After a sneaky coffee and scone (shhhh....) at Marks and Sparks, we headed over to Debenhams, not usually a shop that I go into to be honest, but after the depressing sight of my colourless wardrobe I really was prepared to try out everywhere! And it's a blooming good job I did, it was there that I found the love of my life.. or at least my love for the next few weeks anyway! It is of course, a pair of shoes, but not any old shoes, the cutest most perfect shoes I've ever laid my eyes on. At a tiny 5ft2" I really should be a heels gal, but they hurt my feet far too much, I truly think I was destined to be small. Right, back to the bestest shoes ever, they're black, loafer style flats with black diamantes near the toe, doesn't sound that amazing I'll admit, but they're so simply pretty that I just know I shall wear them to death. And at only £20 I'm pretty sure I shall be going back and getting a grey pair!
Right then, I've just tried to find these wonderful ickle shoes online to link them for you all, however I can't find them anywhere! They're by the brand "Head over Heels" and this is the closest I can find, however in the shop I got mine for £20 (I've just double checked the receipt) and there was also a pair in grey, so if you fancy a pair, I can't suggest anything other than nipping in and having a look!

It wouldn't have been a proper shopping trip without popping into Boots, full of shiny new make-up things for me to play with. However it was a very tame visit to be honest, I only brought one thing :(. Yet another Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter, Strawberry Shortcake, a gorgeous baby/pastel-y pink colour. It's currently snuggled along with it's sisters in my make-up bag; Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple and Cotton Candy. If you can't tell, I am in love with these products and I'm slowly but surely working my way through owning all of them, so far I have every one that is sold in my local Boots! If you're reading this and you haven't tried them, why are you sitting reading this?! Run to your nearest Boots, Superdrug, anything and buy one!

Once I had finished staring at all the other pretty colours in Boots, we moved on to the final shop, Vero Moda. Again, this isn't a shop that a frequent that often, it's one of those that I walk past and think "ooh that's pretty..." but to be quite honest with you everything in it has always looked a little too pricey for my liking! But, having said that I did end up buying two items from there, both tops, both on sale and both just as colourless as everything else in my wardrobe! The first item, a cream coloured top with a gold studded collar, in my opinion the exact right mix of quirky and girly, reduced from £25 to £12.

Secondly, and now that I'm looking at them both, pretty much the exact same colour, a slightly sheer baggy/slouchy, bat wing top, not actually sure how much it was originally, but I got it for a measly £10. It's a pretty basic top to be honest but I think I'll get a lot of use out of it, even if it is nothing like what I went for, but hey in my life nothing goes to plan!

Whew, that was awfully long wasn't it? Sorry! I do hope you've seen something you like, and if it was one of the many things I brought on sale (what? I'm not cheap really...) that you are still in time to get it yourself. Oh and don't forget, if you haven't checked out Revlon Lip Butters, where have you been? Go get one now, I won't be doing a review because it seems pointless, every review seems to say the same thing and I agree. I don't like lip glosses but I love love love them. So off you go, buy some :)
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxoxoxo.
