another Apocalips review!

Hello gorgeous!
I'm sure you'll have seen a million and one reviews of the new Rimmel products, Apocalips but I figured as I went a little crazy over them I should put my thoughts out there!

not amazingly accurate colours here so see the picture below!
The five (yes, five, don't give me that look! they are too pretty!) colours I picked up were 101 Celestial, 600 Nude Eclipse, 400 Big Bang, 301 Galaxy and 500 Luna. But first, I'd like to take a quick look at the packaging, wowzers! It is amazing, the colour you see in the tube is the actual product which I think is quite cool and the top of product is shaped like a rock/asteroid kind of tying in with the apocalypse theme I suppose.

a more accurate view of the colours!
The swatches above are literally just from dabbing the applicator onto my skin, so you can see how pigmented the product is! I also wanted to wait until I had a chance to try out most of the colours all day, so I could comment on their durability and I can honestly say I was shocked *in a very very good way!*. I won't lie and say oh my goodness they stayed on perfectly all day, they didn't, but they stayed on for hours without smudging or fading and when they do fade they fade evenly so it doesn't look obvious.

At the minute they are on sale in Boots for £5.99 and they are on 3 for 2 along with all other Rimmel products, (hence how I justified buying so many...) and I highly highly recommend picking at least one up. Celestial is probably my favourite just because I love the pale pink shade for everyday.

Have you brought any?
Are you planning on?
I really do love them, Rimmel honestly have some amazing products!

Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxoxo

Lush! it's.. well.. lush!

Hello lovelies!
I went to Lush a few weeks ago, one of my absolute favourite shops, and I had a nice chat with one of the girls in there. To be honest I normally try to avoid talking to the assistants, not in a horrid way, just because they are always so lovely and make me feel like I should spend so much more than I can justify!
But, this time I wanted to know more about the hair care range in Lush, I've been in and looked at them countless times but it seems a little overwhelming!
After a quite long chat and a lot of smelling products and messing about with the solid shampoos in the little bowls of water (I know it's a simple thing but I do love the fact that you can try out the products in the store) the lovely lady gave me some samples of the three products I fancied and that she thought would help my extraordinarily damaged hair. They were a pre-shampoo treatment (H'suan Wen Hua), a solid shampoo (Trichomania) and a conditioner (American Cream).

The pre-shampoo treatment is the product I was most skeptical about, the lady I was speaking to said that it should last up to 6 washes *so you put it on your hair before shampooing, leave however long you can, I usually leave it for around 20 minutes, wash it off and continue with your hair care routine and you shouldn't have to use it again for 6 washes*. I honestly did not believe her, the treatment is amazing there is no doubt about that, I could tell that after using it for the first time, my hair felt stronger immediately and it really does last around 5 or 6 washes so you get so much product for your money!

Trichomania did really surprise me, firstly I have never used a solid shampoo before but I will never go back now, it's amazing and you get so much more use out of the product. I have used my sample now about 5 times and honestly there is hardly any difference. It smells amazingly of coconut, not the fake kind of coconut smell in most "coconut scented" products, but a real coconut smell (could I have said coconut any more? COCONUT!).

Now, the conditioner.. I wasn't disappointed in it, it is a good product, but it didn't seem as amazing to me as the other products. I think it may be because the pre-shampoo treatment was already doing so much, I don't feel I need it. But it does work wonders and make your hair super-duper shiny which is amazing for me seen as mine is as damaged as can be.

So there you have it! My recent Lush loves..
Have you tried any of the Lush hair products?
What do you think?
Please do follow if you like this post, it makes me a very happy bunny!
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxoxo

my first tattoo experience!

Hello there gorgeous!
I'm not sure if you know but I turned 18 recently and for my birthday I decided to get my first tattoo.

I must admit my mum wasn't thrilled with me getting a tattoo. Although both my parents have tattoos (mum has one and dad has so many I don't even know!) my mum was concerned that I will regret it, something would go wrong, it would hurt too much or I wouldn't like where it is.
However my dad, since I was around 16 I think, has always been of the mind that I am an adult and can make my own choices. I think he has always believed that because we are so similar and he knows that I don't make rash decisions. I must give him some credit actually he helped me finalise my design.

I decided I needed to make the design myself because it would be easier than going to a tattoo parlour and trying to explain what I wanted and paying extra for them to design it. I just used word because I have zero artistic talent, with a picture I took from Google Images of bird outlines, printed it out and gave it to the artist once I'd decided on a place. I rearranged the quote to be on two lines (just taking out the "and") because I knew I only wanted it to cover a *relatively* small area so for work etc. it can be covered.

Anyway here it is!
1 day after, still healing and scabbing hence the kind of bumpy look, it will be smooth soon :)

where it is actually on my arm
Pain wise, I wouldn't really say it was painful, probably about a 4/10. It's more unpleasant than anything. Plus I picked a chubby area of my arm (well, chubbier it's all chubby!) because I while reading around abut tattoo pain, it seems to be that the closer to the bone/the skinnier the area the more pain.

Oh and it hardly cost anything because my dad knew the tattoo artist, I think it should have been around £40/£50 because it only took about 4 minutes. Weirdly I know that it took a little longer than One Directions new song as that was on the radio at the time!

I would just say, if you're reading this because you're wanting to get a tattoo, just be 100% sure that you are happy to look at it forever. I did draw my tattoo on myself in eyeliner and see if I could live with it.
Anyway, that's it my lovely!
If you have a blog please do leave it below as I always love new ones to read!
Lots and lots of love, Beth xoxoxo!

birthday wishlist!

Hello you gorgeous thing!
I am insanely excited, in a matter of (currently 8) days, I will be an official, fully-fledged adult! That's right, I'm turning 18!

Anyway, as I have had a stupidly long day which has consisted of meeting the boyfriend for breakfast (we had tea and scones, it was ridiculously cute!) and then sitting and not moving from my computer doing college work all about murder (ooooh jolly...), I wanted to get excited about something.

With that in mind, here is my birthday wishlist; some items I know I'm getting (as they are a prezzie from me to me) and some I will just endlessly dream after...

1) My Tattoo!
Now obviously I can't whack in a picture of this amazing tattoo that doesn't yet exist, but you all know what tattoos are. My tattoo is (hopefully, I'm going to see a lovely lady about it tomorrow) going to be a quote on my arm that I'm going to get done on my birthday morning. So if you're interested in seeing that, make sure to be following me on twitter (@LookLifeBeauty), as I'm sure to be tweeting all the way through it!

2) M.A.C lipstick!
I've filled and emptied the online basket in MAC more times than I can count and never been able to push that button, have you seen the prices?! But always in the basket are two lipsticks; Creme D' Nude and Brick-o-La, I just love them!

3) Illamasqua highlighter!
Specifically, Gleam in Aurora. I genuinely do not have the words to express my feelings for this product, Google it, it's gorgeous!

4) Comedy DVDs!
I haven't brought DVDs in so long, just because £10 is a lot to spend all at once for something that lasts maybe 2 hours and I won't want to watch again for at least a week. So anything with Sarah Millican, Jon Richardson, Russell Howard, Greg Davies, David Mitchell or Miranda Hart and I'm happy!

5) A nice meal out with the family and boyfriend!
Unfortunately this won't be happening this year, my big brother will be off back at uni and my mum will be working... But I am going to compromise, breakfast out with dad, lunch out with my boyfriend and a night in with my mum!

Do you get as excited as me about your birthday? I just think it's the best day (minus Christmas)!
Fancy making an extra birthday wish come true early and giving my twitter/blog whichever you fancy, a follow? I promise to love you forever :)
Beth, xoxoxo

my 2012...

Hello gorgeous, I don't know about you, but I loved 2012, to be honest I'm quite sad to see the back of it, but hopefully 2013 will be even better :).

So, I thought a nice way to see in the new year would be to give all you lovely people a little summary of my year...

we started off the year with a new addition to the family, this is Lola enjoying the snow in our garden

by far my favourite candle of the whole year, brought this ma-hoo-sive Yankee candle in the January sales and it's still going *barely* as I type this

definitely the highlight of my 2012 was this boy, Thomas; I do love this boy rather a lot... please excuse the lack of decent photos...
blurry but an amazing night :)
in April me and my Mum went to see the amazing Steps on their reunion tour, first gig I ever went to was Steps, the second was Rolf Harris, I was a cool child!

this year I've been blessed enough to go on two college trips; Ireland and Poland

Poland

Poland

Ireland
Giants Causeway
in the summer my and the family went on holiday to Bournemouth

then with the colder months come; Halloween! better Starbucks drinks! and me shopping like a crazy lady because... I got a job!

ooooooh isn't she cute?! this is Lola around Halloween time eating jelly because she is stupidly spoilt...

December brought my favourite yearly tradition, the Clothes Show Live... ooft...

now let the winter/Christmas photos commence...
Christmas jumper!

I <3 wrapping Christmas presents

my fave Christmas present (from Thomas)

from work for the festive season

"be happy"
